Port Colborne, Ontario — The Ferris Mowers Race of Champions Sportsman 602 Series fueled by Sunoco made history Sunday evening at Humberstone Speedway with the running of the Davidson Line Marking and Parking Lot Maintenance “50”. When the checkered flag fell Cody McPherson of St. Catharines, Ontario stood tall in victory lane. “We had a good night and went with the same setup we had from last night,” offered McPherson following his victory. “We had a fast car and things played in to our hand. It’s very cool to win the first event for the Race of Champions Sportsman Series here at Humberstone. This is a good way to get our year going.”

McPherson started 4th and worked his way past Brad Rouse on lap 28 and never looked back. Chad Chevalier made a late race run to second while Rouse ended up third.

The next event for the Race of Champions Sportsman 602 Series is Saturday, July 2 at the Freedom Motorsports Park in Delevan, New York.
