(Mooresville, N.C.) Coming off of one of the wildest finishes in ARCA Racing Series history at the Salem Speedway last weekend, Mason Mitchell and Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM) turn their attention to the challenging Kentucky Speedway for Friday evenings Zloop 150. Mitchell finished second one year ago at the 1.5 mile track.

“I really enjoy racing at Kentucky Speedway, the bumps in turns one and two make it a challenge to get around” Mitchell said. “The track gives drivers the ability to move around. Last year I was able to run higher than any other driver and make passes. I feel like our intermediate program is the best it’s been all year.”

Mitchell at Kentucky: Mitchell has one prior start at Kentucky Speedway coming one year ago. Mitchell started from the 20th position and led 20 laps before finishing second.

Salem in the Rearview: Mitchell displayed one of the most dominating performances in recent memory and at one point even lapped the entire field. Tom Hessert passed Mitchell for the lead with 12 laps remaining in the event, however Mitchell waited until the final lap to make his move. Heading into turn three Mitchell went to the inside the two veteran drivers made contact sending Mitchell into a spin crossing the finish line backwards. The second place finish was the sixth time Mitchell has finished in the runner-up spot in 2014.

Points Battle: Mitchell was able to extend his point lead to 50 points over championship rival Grant Enfinger with two races remaining on the schedule. The lead was 20 points before last weekend’s race at the Salem Speedway. Mitchell has led the standings for the last six races.

Chassis: Mitchell will strap back behind the wheel of chassis No. 594 this weekend at the Kentucky Speedway. The chassis nicknamed “white lightening” has one prior start during the 2014 season at Pocono Raceway in August. Mitchell sat on the pole, led eight laps and finished seventh.

The Zloop 150 at the Kentucky Speedway will be live on Fox Sports 1 Friday evening beginning at 8:00 pm EST. Arcaracing.com will have live timing and scoring for all on-track activity from Kentucky.
