(Mooresville, N.C. —- June 8, 2014) – Mason Mitchell and Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM) impressed in front of a NASCAR crowd yesterday at Pocono Raceway in the Pocono ARCA 200 by finishing runner-up for the second time in three races.

“I hope I showed people how bad I want to win. It was fun to race with Larson, but it would have been better to win. I can’t thank my team enough, for us to compete with a NASCAR team is huge.” Mitchell added.

Mitchell qualified the No. 98 featuring Musselman’s, the Wildlife Foundation of Florida and Thermal Technology Services Inc, Ford in the fourth position Friday afternoon. The No. 98 moved up one row to the second position for the start due to a driver change in the No. 15.

When the green flag waved Mitchell settled in the second position behind Kyle Larson. Mitchell hit pit-road at lap seven under caution for fuel only and return to the track in the fourth position.

Mitchell continued to ride in the fourth position until an unscheduled pit-stop at lap 26 under green for a possible rear axle problem. The No. 98 team, led by crew chief Matt Weber elected to take four Hoosier tires and fuel.

“We ended up finding out the clutch was leaking and all the fluid was letting it slip causing it to not accelerate properly. The crew did a great job diagnosing the problem” Mitchell stated.

Mitchell worked his way back inside the top-5 when the leaders pitted for their scheduled pit-stop at lap 48. The caution waved with 20 laps to go.

On the restart at lap 64 Mitchell made a bold move in turn one moving from seventh to second.

With nine laps to go, Mitchell took the lead from Larson and held it until three laps to go. Mitchell finished runner-up for the second time in the last three races. The sophomore driver pushed his top-10 streak to 16 races in a row with a top-10 finish.

“We gained more points on Grant this weekend which is huge. Our new marketing partners Musselman’s and Wildlife Foundation of Florida were ecstatic after the race and I look forward to working with them in the future” an excited Mitchell added.
