Mooresville, N.C. – The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards heads from the fastest track on the schedule the Michigan International Speedway to the smallest track on the schedule  Elko Speedway for race number nine of the 2014 season. Fresh off of his third runner-up finish in the last four races Mason Mitchell and Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM) bring the ARCA Racing points lead to Elko by 30 points over Grant Enfinger.

Mason Mitchell Quotes:

“I’m really looking forward to Elko this weekend. The MMM guys are bringing the same car we finished second with last month at Toledo it’s my favorite short-track car that we have.”

“It’s exciting to have the points lead but it doesn’t change anything that we do at the shop or the track. We want to go out and win every race and the points will take care of themselves. It does speak volumes about this race team and how dedicated each member is to the team.”

Mitchell at Elko Speedway: Mitchell has one prior start at Elko Speedway starting 8th and finishing 11th.

Michigan Review: Mitchell started from pole and led the opening 46 laps before a problem on the pit-stop sent him back to the track in second. Mitchell would retake the lead on lap 65. On the final restart Mitchell would lose the lead to eventual race winner Austin Theriault and finish runner-up.

Streaking: Since starting his own team for the 2014 ARCA Racing Season, Mitchell has earned eight top-10 finishes, five top-5 finishes, one pole (Toledo) and has an average finish of 4.6  Mitchell’s top-10 streak is now at 17 races dating back to last August at Pocono Raceway. Mitchell has earned three runner-up finishes in the last four races and five runner-up finishes in the last ten races.
