Many Heroes on Helen Devos Childrens Hospital Night!

It was all about the kids at The New Berlin Raceway and Entertainment Complex. It was Helen Devos Childrens Hospital Night and by the first drop of the green flag the sun was shining brightly. Superman, Batman, Captain America, Wonder Woman and their friends all stopped into Berlin Raceway for the kids!

The Enterprise Iron and Metal Sportsman once again thrilled the kids and fans of all ages with close and tight battles in both the heat races and the feature.  After yet another “Clean and Green” race and non-stop battles, Brian Thome visited the Great Clips Victory lane for the 2nd time this season.  Brian stated this goal this was to “Win Two Features at Berlin”. He accomplished that feat Saturday Night!

The Kalamazoo Vapor 4-Cyl Division featured a hearty group of cars and the feature race did not let down any race fans. Racin’ Jason Devos returned to Berlin Raceway for the first time this season season and put on a great show and ended up crossing the line first in the feature. After post race inspection, however, race officials ended up awarding the race to Seth Vanhorsen, who had been running 2nd!

The Model Coverall Modifieds were set to roll off for a great feature, but a nasty crash in turn one involving Rob Shoemaker, Nick Bonstell and others trimmed the field down. Former track champion Billy Shotko was able to work his way around both Ben Welch and Billy Eppink, and Shotko would once again return to the victory lane. Shotko continues to have an outstanding season in the Model Coverall Modifieds.

The Boyne Machine Super Late Models were back in action with a stellar group of drivers and beautiful race cars.  Veterans Joe Bush and Tim Devos would lead the field to green. Devos would cut a tire and crash hard into the turn 2 wall while running second. Former track champion Ross Meeuwsen slowly worked his way up and grabbed the lead about half way through the event. Tom Thomas charged up to 2nd, but was unable to catch Meeuwsen who would go on to grab the win!
