The 2021 short track racing season is now over, but racetracks around the country won’t stay quiet for long. While there are still tracks and series that have not revealed their full schedules, January, February, and March are locked in.
Now you can start planning for what is a busy rest of the winter by visiting the racing calendar on Speed51 to see what’s coming up for the first quarter of the new year.
To access the calendar, go to the “Racing Calendar” tab right underneath the upper right-side of the home page. You will then be given a dropdown menu in which you can select which month of the year you want to view.
January is stacked full of events all across the nation, starting this weekend with the Tulsa Shootout in Oklahoma and the Red Eye 50/50 at New Smyrna Speedway. The first marquee Super Late Model event of the new year will see the discipline’s best head to Crisp Motorsports Park for SpeedFest. Up north, fans and drivers will brave the cold and possibly even snow for Enduro racing in New Hampshire, while dirt racing’s best will trek west to FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway for the Wild West Shootout.
There will also be dirt action in the Southeast throughout the month. The Xtreme DIRTcar Series will make an appearance at Cherokee Speedway on January 9, while other Dirt Late Model stars will head to Talladega Short Track for the Ice Bowl the same weekend. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will start their season at All-Tech Raceway at the end of January.
As for February, you can find all the traditional events such as the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna (FL) for Late Models, Modifieds and more, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Winternationals at East Bay Raceway Park, and DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Raceway Park to name a few. The Late Model Stocks will open the season with the Icebreaker, which has moved to Florence Motor Speedway after the closure of Myrtle Beach Speedway.
The month of March brings about the beginning of “business as usual” with many tracks and tours kicking off their racing seasons. Series such as the CARS Tour, Southern Super Series and ARCA Menards Series West are just a few that will be getting their 2021 seasons underway at this time.
Another batch of marquee events dots the March calendar, with the Alabama 200 getting the wheels rolling for Montgomery Motor Speedway’s (AL) Show Me the Money Pro Late Model season, and the Rattler 250 at South Alabama Speedway doing the same for the Southern Super Series.
This is only part of what’s to come in the early months of 2021, so be sure to check out the racing calendar on Speed51.com right now.
The full 2021 calendar will be updated in the coming weeks.
