Racers from all over the United States and Canada will make their way to sunny New Smyrna Beach, Florida in less than one month for the 50th Annual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing.  But before racers make their way to the Sunshine State, they first send in their entry forms.  On Tuesday afternoon, track officials released the first batch of entries exclusively to Speed51.com.

The first batch of entries is highlighted by the return of 2015 Florida Governor's Cup winner Ty Majeski's return to New Smyrna.  Since his Governor's Cup win in November, Majeski has officially been crowned the 2015 Kulwicki Driver Development Program champion and sat on the pole for the 48th annual Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway (FL).  The Wisconsin native enters the World Series with hopes of adding a Super Late Model championship to his already impressive resume.

Natalie Decker, a multi-time Late Model winner in the Midwest region, has filed her entry and has intentions of chasing a World Series championship.  2015 Southern Super Series Rookie of the Year Garrett Jones and three-time defending Florida NASCAR Whelen All-American Series champion David Rogers have also filed entries for the Super Late Model division.

Former NASCAR K&N Pro Series West and SRL Southwest Tour champion Derek Thorn is the first driver to file entries for multiple divisions.  The California native will pilot Kurt Jett's No. 9 Pro Late Model and Super Late Model throughout the week at New Smyrna.

Joining Thorn on the Pro Late Model entry list is former Vermont state NWAAS champion Todd Stone, Michigan native Michael Clancy Jr., NASCAR Pinty's Series driver Erica Theiring and Tennessee driver Mike Lewis.

NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour driver JR Bertuccio will make his fourth straight appearance at the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing in 2016 after finishing third overall one year ago.  New York's Eric Goodale is also entered for a second straight year after winning the John Blewett III Memorial 76 in 2015.

Additional entries are expected to be released during the weeks leading up to the 50th annual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing.  Racing begins on Friday, February 12 and doesn't end until champions are crowned on Saturday, February 20.
