Legendary Modified car owner Joe Brady passed away suddenly Friday night.
Brady, most recently the car owner of the No. 00 that Ted Christopher pilots on the Modified Racing Series, was inducted into the New England Auto Racers Hall of Fame in 2008.
During his five decades of being a car owner, Brady worked with some of the most well-known drivers to ever race Modifieds. Throughout the decades, he worked with drivers such as Bugsy Stevens, Bob Santos, Steve Park, George Summers, John Blewett III, Christopher and short track legend Dick Trickle.
Brady’s least recorded win as a team owner came on August 9, 2014 when he visited victory lane following a Valenti Modified Racing Series event at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl (CT) with Christopher. With Christopher as his driver, Brady’s team also won the 2011 Tour-Type Modified championship at New Smyrna Speedway’s (FL) World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing.
Brady is survived by his wife Linda, son Brian and daughter Anne.
