“Words cannot describe the feeling of being the 2014 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Champion,” Leeck said. “My team worked so hard this season and it all came together.”
On Friday, October 10th, Leeck climbed aboard his No. 12 Mr. Asphalt Chevrolet with one goal, to win the 2014 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance championship. Starting 7th, Leeck raced around the top ten all night. As the checkered flag flew at the Winchester 100 Presented by JEGS.com, Leeck finished 12th. That finish ensured he would beat CRA veteran Josh Nelms and the 2014 Howie Lettow Rookie of the Year, 15-year old Grant Quinlan for the championship.
Such a feat would not have been possible without a team, with that comes some thank you messages from Dan. “I can’t thank my crew chief, Neil May, enough for all his hard work. Thank you Freddie Query for the help, support and faith you showed in our program, it was an honor to work with you this year. Also, I couldn’t do this without my family, especially my parents and my Uncle Tom, thanks for everything you do. Finally, thank you to my sponsors Mr. Asphalt, Bridgelake Auto Repair & Towing, Diesel Truck Sales, Wellman Excavating, High Tower Racing Transmissions, ARS Shocks, ILMOR Phil Harper Motorsports and Alta Equipment.”
What’s ahead for Leeck and the No. 12 team? “We are going to have some fun and run a mixture of Super Late Model and Pro Late Model races. How many races we will run is going to be dependent on sponsorship,” said car owner Tom Renner.
