After a great streak of good weather and completing eight straight nights of exciting racing, Mother Nature has taken the last two events at Midvale Speedway.
This past weekend, teams arrived at the track with sunny skies but as practice wore on, cloudy conditions took over. Just as the teams were preparing to qualify, rain fell from the skies and forced the cancelation. Anticipation now builds for this Saturday, August 2, for a huge program of events.
The McIntosh Oil Company Late Models will be on hand racing in a 50-lap feature event, paying extra money to participants. Last week, a solid field of 16 Late Models were pitside before rainfall hit and it wouldn’t be surprising to see a few more to compete this weekend.
Also running a 50-lap event will be the Summit Racing Equipment Economy Modifieds. Its been a few weeks since the Modifieds have been on track, giving the teams a chance to fine tune their machines for this Saturday’s feature.
Street Stocks, Compacts, and Mini Trucks will also race in heats and features this weekend. Added to the program are the kid’s racecar rides that were previously scheduled a couple of weeks ago but rained out. The rides will be held at intermission.
Despite all of the extra activity going on, tickets will be regularly priced at $12 for adults, $10 for seniors 62+, $8 for kids 6-15, and children five and under are free. Pit admission is $25 for members and $30 for non-members.
Pit gates will open at 2:30, hotlaps and grandstands at 3:00, qualifying at 5:00, and racing will begin at 6:30.
