BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA  – Kern County Raceway Park, fueled by Monster Energy, will host the second annual Faith & Family Night on Saturday night presented by KUZZ radio.  Faith & Family Night will be a festive night with a full NASCAR program plus Faster Pastor race, MAVTV Missile Jet Car Burndown, free admission for Boy Scouts in uniform, and bounce houses for the kids.

Racing action will include the 75 lap season finale for NASCAR Pro Late Models, plus championship finales for NASCAR Spec Mods and Mini Stocks.  The Super Stocks will stage a non-points race as well.

David Mayhew will attempt to complete the puzzle with the 2014 Pro Late Model championship in addition to his 2013 CITGO Lubricants Late Model title.  Mayhew leads teammate Johnny White, Dallas Montes, and 2013 division champ Tim Smith in the standings.

Saturday’s 75 lap race will be held over two segments with a 50 lap segment and a 25 lap final sprint to the finish.  With the $10,003 to win Fall Shootout race for the Southwest Tour looming, several SRL teams are expected to join the fray in Saturday’s prelude race.

On the NASCAR Spec Modified side the Shane Thompson Racing teammates Chris Dalton and Brock Thompson will try to put the wraps on a 1-2 season, with Dalton’s championship making him only the second driver in KCRP history to successfully defend their championship.  Jim Coffey ranks third while looking for his first win of the year and Gary Dutton missed one event this season but is still within striking distance of Coffey in fourth.  Mark Allan makes the tow over the coast from Orcutt, CA every Saturday and is fifth in the series.

While Tim Smith races in the Pro Late Models, his father Randy has worked his way to the top of the NASCAR Mini Stock championship.  All the elder Smith has to do is take the green flag for Saturday’s 30 lapper on the quarter-mile to claim the title ahead of Terry Pettit, Stacy Evans, and Eric Aldridge.

The second annual Faster Pastor race will see eight pastors from Kern County churches duking it out in a 15 lap contest.  The race will feature a field of all rookie drivers, racing in the KCRP Racing Experience Pro 4 Modifieds.  Entries have been filed by pastors from New Life Center, Journey Church, Faith Community Church, Westside Believers Fellowship, and Valley Baptist.

Making their debut at KCRP will be the MAVTV Missile, a Jet Funny Car that will make several runs around the track before the Pro Late Model feature.  Then at the conclusion of the night, the MAVTV Missile will meltdown a junker car!
Don’t miss opening ceremonies where presentations of colors and the Pledge of Allegiance will be made by area boy scouts as well!

Saturday night’s events are just $15 for Adults, $8 for Seniors 65+, Active Military, Children 6-15, and Children 5 and under are free!  A Family Pass for two adults and two seniors or children is $40 (Box office only).  Reserved stadium seats are $20.  Grandstand gates open at 4 p.m. with autographs at 6 p.m. and opening ceremonies at 7 p.m.
