Watkins Glen, NY, August 7, 2014– Kenzie Ruston comes into the Bully Hill Vineyards 125 with an additional spring in her step. Last week, Ruston raised one of her own NASCAR records, finishing second at Iowa Speedway, with that finish Ruston remains the highest finishing female in a NASCAR K&N Pro Series East event.

“It was a great run in Iowa,” said Ruston. “Second place is always a tough pill to swallow, but as the week goes on you realize it was a great run, good for the team, especially when we started sixteenth. This week is another opportunity to go out and have a strong run and hopefully end up in Victory Lane on Friday.”

Ruston has additional motivation coming in to Watkins Glen, as she will carry Bully Hill Vineyards on her No. 96 Ben Kennedy Racing Chevrolet this weekend. “I’m very excited about having Bully Hill Vineyards as our sponsor this weekend,” said Ruston. “Bully Hill has been involved in NASCAR for a long time, and it was a tremendous honor when I got the phone call a few months ago that they were interested in partnering for this race.

“Watkins Glen will be a unique challenge for everyone. We’ve never been here before with the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, so most everyone will be seeing the track for the first time. We only have two hours and forty minutes of practice, so everyone has to figure it out pretty quick.”

Ruston will be driving a new chassis to the Ben Kennedy Racing team, a purpose built road course car, which Crew Chief Mike Fritts hopes will take the team to their first victory of 2014.

“We worked really hard on getting this car ready to come up here,” said Fritts. “The guys were in the race shop until 5:30 am on Tuesday getting it finished to come up here for the Bully Hill Vineyards 125. We think with Kenzie we have a great opportunity to come up here and have a solid points day and contend for the win. Kenzie is a smart driver, and she understands this is a long race, and she’s going to be patient, not put us in a bad position. Kenzie was a driver that we all noticed last year on the two road course races because of her ability to adapt, and make smart racing decisions all day. We couldn’t be more excited to have her behind the wheel of this car.”

The Bully Hill Vineyards 125 has a scheduled Green Flag time of 6:15 PM Eastern on Friday, August 8. The race will be broadcast on a tape-delayed format on Sunday, August 17 at 10 AM Eastern.
