Madera, CA – In what has been a month of major announcements for LoanMart Madera Speedway, promoter Kenny Shepherd has a deal in place for an expanded television contract with MAVTV for the 2016 season.  The agreement will include the production of up to 20 original episodes of racing from the one-third mile asphalt oval with broadcasts increasing to one hour in length.  All eight Jr. Late Model races and all eight LoanMart Open Late Model races will be included in the package.

The Jr. Late Model program was announced on Wednesday as a revolutionary racing series for drivers ages 10-16 to climb into full-bodied stockcars.  These drivers will race in cars identical to their counterparts in the Open Late Models besides the implementation of a rev limiter and restrictor plate.

2015 has seen MAVTV cover the full LoanMart Open Late Model Series with great fan response to the high energy 30 minute broadcasts.  An hour long broadcast will allow fans to see all 100 laps of green flag action on each show in 2016.  The Jr. Late Model broadcasts will showcase all 50 laps of racing while also allowing fans a deeper look at the cars and drivers in the new series.

It is nearly uncharted territory for a short track in the state of California to receive the television time that Madera Speedway will receive next season.  It has been made possible by a great group of sponsors, the support of Forest Lucas and MAVTV, and also the hard-working staff at the race track which self-produces the broadcasts.

“I’m very passionate about short track racing and I’m extremely driven to produce great motorsports content for TV,” Shepherd said.  “Our entire staff that works on the TV show from Madera is excited to take the next step with our production company. MAVTV is simply the best when it comes to grass roots racing, and we look forward to growing our racing show on their network.”

The LoanMart Madera Speedway hosts the LoanMart Open Late Models again with a 100 lap contest on September 26th, before the giant October Gold Classic on October 10th.  That event will include a $10,000 to win 125 lap Late Model race and a $5,000 to win Lucas Oil Modified event as well to make one of the largest short track races in the West Coast.
