After a caution flag flew on lap 35 Ryan Gillenwater grabbed the as Beasley spun on the restart. On the next lap RJ Payne lost an engine and spray oil on the track causing four of the top five cars to spin in turn 4. After the track was cleaned Jimmy McCune chased down the leader took over the top spot on lap 39 and pulled away for the victory. California’s Kody Swanson came through the field to take second followed by Gillenwater, Decaire and Ryan Litt.
Jim Miller Jr. led qualifying with a 14.82 and won the heat race. Robby Johnston brought his old reliable Camaro and jumped out in front start the 30-lap feature. Al Boitel Jr. latched on to his back bumper and the two cars went at it. Miller caught up to the three former track champs put on a nose-to-tail battle until the end. The veterans thrilled the crowd finishing Johnston, Boitel and Miller at the checkered flag. Eddie Hayden Jr. And Jake Thompson rounded out the top five.
The Pure Stocks were truly the Black and Blue division on this night, as Jordan Lechota was fastest for the sixth straight week with a 16.31. Lechota was given an option after his five straight feature wins and starting in the back for an additional $100 bonus. Six laps later Nick Lechota, behind the wheel of Tiff Tabor’s car, jumped ahead. But his little brother was not to be denied as Jordan took over the lead on lap 8.
