With Super Late Model racers all around North America starting their stretch run of the 2014 racing season, plans are already in the works to prepare for the 47th Annual Snowball Derby at Pensacola, Florida’s Five Flags Speedway.

Likewise, it’s time for fans to make their plans to attend the most prestigious short track race in America, December 3 through 7 at Five Flags.

Fans have until Friday, August 1 to renew their tickets to this year’s Snowball Derby events.  On August 18, all unclaimed reserved seats will be made available when public ticket sales begin.

“Part of what makes the Snowball Derby week so special is that short track fans from all over the map annually attend and keep renewing their seats for the next year,” said Five Flags Speedway General Manager Tim Bryant.  “Every year we look forward to the renewal phone calls from fans who remember the first Snowball Derby in 1968 and those who share stories about recent memorable Derby finishes.

“We encourage all the fans who haven’t already done so to renew their tickets on or before August 1 to ensure they can witness another memorable Snowball Derby this December.  Then, when ticket sales are made available to the public on August 18, fans looking to see this year’s Snowball Derby better act fast because the best reserved seats always go quickly.”

Ticket renewals must be made on or before 5pm CDT on August 1 or those tickets will be released for sale when tickets are made available to the public.  Renewals can be made by calling the Five Flags Speedway Box Office at 850-944-8400.

Reserved tickets will be on sale to the non-renewing public on Monday August 18.

The 47th Annual Snowball Derby Week kicks off with the Cat Country/WEAR-TV Green Flag Party on Wednesday, December 3.  Practice for the Snowball Derby, Snowflake 100 and feature events for the Butler U-Pull-It Bombers and Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Sportsmen will follow on Thursday, December 4.  Friday, December 5 is WXBM Pole Night as the world’s top Super Late Model racers vie for a starting spot in the 47th Annual Snowball Derby.  Also on tap for Friday are feature events for the Five Flags Super Stocks and Modifieds.

The Allen Turner Hyundai Snowflake 100 will showcase the top Pro Late Model talents on Saturday, December 6, plus the final starting spots for the Snowball Derby will be on the line in Snowball Qualifier races.  The Pro Trucks will also share the top billing on Saturday.

The 47th Annual Snowball Derby will take the green flag at 2pm CT on Sunday, December 7.
