iRacing Event on Speed51 to Benefit Racer Fighting Cancer

Speed51 will continue their expanding eSports coverage on Friday, April 4 when Ohio Sim Racing hosts the Mike Swaney 57 sponsored by South Philly Pizza. The race will feature Super Late Models at ‘The Last Great Coliseum’ of Bristol Motor Speedway, with all proceeds collected going to Ohio-area racer Mike Swaney, who is currently fighting cancer.

The race will feature a qualifying-heat-feature format similar to what race fans can see at a local short track. Qualifying will begin at 9:00 p.m. ET, followed by 10-lap heat races and a 57-lap feature event. There will also be a 25-lap Last Chance race, if needed.

The winner of the Mike Swaney 57 will receive $130 for their efforts. Second place will receive $30, third place will pocket $20, and the rest of the top five will receive $10. There will also be $10 paid out to the fast qualifier, the driver who leads the most laps, and the 25th-place (last) finisher.

Sign-ups for the Mike Swaney 57 are going on now, with two ways to enter. Interested drivers can find the entry list post on the Ohio Sim Racing Facebook page and comment with the number they would like to run. Drivers can also email their name and requested number to [email protected] There will be a $10 entry fee to enter Friday night’s race.
