After having its July 3 planned season kickoff shut down by government order, Kalamazoo Speedway (MI) is ready for take two of their season opener on Friday, July 10 with the Intimidator 100.
“We are going Green for 2020 on Friday, July 10,” the track said in an announcement on Tuesday. “It’s the Zoo’s 71st consecutive season of racing and the Intimidator 100 for the Outlaw Super Late Models is a part of this (delayed) season opener.”
The event was originally planned for last week, but the track was advised just a day before the event that the facility would not be allowed to host the event. The event will now take place this Friday, July 10, opening the season for Kalamazoo Speedway.
The Intimidator 100 also serves as one of the major events for the region’s Outlaw Super Late Model competitors. Last year, Adam Terry scored his first career victory in the event, charging around Tyler Roahrig in the closing laps of the race for the win. This year, he will be looking to join a list of two-time winners of the race which includes Roahrig, Steve Needles, Terry Senneker, Fred Campbell and Tom Thomas.
The event will be broadcast on Speed51 as part of Summer Thunder TV, free to monthly and yearly subscribers. Speed51 subscribers will be able to enjoy more than 20 live broadcasts during the month of July alone as part of Summer Thunder TV.
