While every effort is currently being made to contest the Peach State Classic in racing’s return to Gresham Motorsports Park on May 16-17, officials have announced a make-up date if it is necessitated.
If the Peach State Classic cannot take place on its originally scheduled weekend, the event will be postponed to the weekend of October 23-25. The specific race days for that weekend would be announced if event officials need to switch the original date.
While this will not slow down the efforts and progress being made to contest the event on its regularly scheduled date, it does allow teams to make plans to attend the event on the alternative date if necessary.
Anticipation is high for the Peach State Classic, as it will be the first short track event at Gresham Motorsports Park in Jefferson, GA in more than five years. The event marks the first race at the half-mile oval since the 2014 World Crown 300, won by Georgia native Casey Roderick.
The Wheelman Racing Series and Pro Trucks will compete on Saturday, May 16 to start the Peach State Classic. The Modifieds of Mayhem and the Super Late Models of the Southern Super Series and CARS Tour will then take center stage on Sunday, May 17.
The headlining Super Late Model feature will boast a five-digit purse,.
