The Main Event Racing Series is entering its 25th year of Outlaw Super Late Model racing in 2018, and it will do so under the banner of International Championship Auto Racing (ICAR). According to an ICAR press release, ICAR has purchased the Main Event Racing Series.


Sweet Manufacturing will be the title sponsor for the 2018 season, and Senneker Performance has signed on as the presenting sponsor for 2018, according to the press release.


300x250 51 Network 2017(2)“Outlaw Super Late Models have a very rich history in the Midwest. (ICAR) intends to keep that history rich, while creating new history with every single race. Our direction is simple and clear. It is to get as many cars to the track as we can so that we put on the best show possible for the fans,” states the press release.


Gary Whipkey leads the all-time championship standings with five Main Event titles to his name, according to 51’s The Third Turn. Bud Perry and Tim Ice both have four titles each.


Rich Roher is the all-time series win leader with 18 victories, according to 51’s The Third Turn. 327 drivers have competed in a Main Event Racing Series race. The series has hosted 203 total events dating back to 1994.


International Championship Auto Racing said full details will be unveiled in a press release at a later date.
