Mobile International Speedway is shaping up for one of the biggest events held at the track in years with the inaugural Mobile 300 taking place on Sunday, October 28th. The 300-lap affair will see a champion crowned for the Southern Super Series presented by Sunoco and the race winner taking home a $15,000 payday.

Now with more than $130,000 of total prize money on the line, the inaugural Mobile 300 is already putting itself amongst the most elite Super Late Model events of the year.

We are looking forward to the running of the inaugural Mobile 300 and the Southern Super Series is glad to be a part of it,” said Southern Super Series promoter, Tim Bryant. The Lyons family (track operators) has done a great job in their first season at the track. They have a lot riding on this event and we’re hoping that the racers will support it, because this is the type of event we need on the national short track scale.”

Charlie and Kody Lyons are nearing the completion of their first year as promoters and operators at Mobile International Speedway in Mobile, Alabama. The father-son duo has brought in a variety of different racing events for an ambitious schedule, ranging from Super Late Models and Pro Late Models to Sprint Cars and even the Big Rig Bandit Series.

Southern Super Series officials also announced a 50lbs/200rpm incentive for crate engines to be able to compete in the 300-lap event on Sunday, October 28th.
