Salem, IN – The ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS will be back in action this Friday, in the Circle City 100 Presented by JEGS.com at the famed Lucas Oil Raceway located just outside of Indianapolis, Indiana. The ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards will also be in action on Friday night in the Scott Get Geared up 200 Presented by Federated Car Care. This is the only time in 2014 the two ARCA sanctioned series will be in action together with the same event.
NASCAR Star Kyle Busch tops the list of entries for Friday’s Circle City 100. Busch will be making his 19th career start with the ARCA/CRA Super Series, it will be his first with the series at Lucas Oil Raceway. Busch has eight series wins to date, including victories in some of the series’ signature events including the Winchester 400 in 2009, the Redbud 300 at Anderson Speedway in 2009, SpeedFest in 2009, 2010 and 2012, and the Rowdy 251 (Now Battle at Berlin 251) in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Busch has 135 NASCAR wins overall in all three of NASCAR’s upper divisions. There is a meet and greet scheduled with Kyle Busch from 5 to 6pm on Friday, tickets are available by calling 217-764-3200.
Fellow NASCAR Sprint Cup driver David Ragan is also entered. Ragan has competed with the ARCA/CRA Super Series at the SpeedFest events at Watermelon Capital Speedway the last three years, and is still seeking his first series victory. Ragan won a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at Talladega last season.
Added NASCAR flavor to the event includes entries from John Hunter Nemechek, who is the son of NASCAR racer Joe Nemechek. John Hunter is competing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck series on a part-time basis in 2014. John Hunter has two JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour wins in 2014, one at SpeedFest 2014 and one at the Milwaukee Mile. Todd Gilliland is entered to compete in his first ever CRA event, he is the son of NASCAR Sprint Cup driver David Gilliland.
Ross Kenseth, the son of NASCAR Champion Matt Kenseth, tops the list of CRA competitors entered for Friday’s event. Kenseth comes into Friday’s event with a three point lead over second place Brian Campbell, whom is also entered. Campbell leads the series with two wins in 2014, but looks to end a string of bad luck that includes two straight DNF’s. 2013 series Champion Travis Braden is also entered, Braden has climbed to third in series points, he is only 13 points out of the series lead.
Other top CRA drivers entered include Chad Finley, Rick Turner, Ali Kern, Matt Hall, Brandon Oakley, Tommy St. John, Brandon Hermiller, Jeff Cannon, Tom Woodin, Alec Carll, Jeep Pflum and top Senneker Performance Rookie drivers Paul Shafer Jr. and Wes Griffith Jr. 2013 Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman Champion Mark Lambert is also entered in the #4 Scott Neal Racing machine. Lambert received a one race ride in 2014 with the ARCA/CRA Super Series for his 2013 Championship, thanks in part to JEGS, Motion Motors and Scott Neal Racing.
There is a very strong group of drivers making their 2014 ARCA/CRA Super Series debuts at Lucas Oil Raceway on Friday including Sellersburg, Indiana’s Will Kimmel, a regular with the ARCA Racing Series and multi-time track Champion at Salem Speedway. Also entered are former NASCAR competitor Willie Allen from Tennessee, Texas racer Austin Wayne Self, another regular with the ARCA Racing Series, California’s Zane Smith, Virginia’s Trey Jarrell, Wisconsin’s Mike Lichtfeld and Michigan’s Justin Claucherty.
On Friday, pit registration will open at 9am for the ARCA/CRA Super Series teams, with their pit gates opening at 9:30am. Practice will begin at 12:45, with the ARCA/CRA Super Series teams having a 45 minute session at that time and a 30 minute session at 2:25pm. ARCA/CRA Super Series qualifying will begin at 4:30pm.The race program will begin at 7pm with the Circle City 100 Presented by JEGS.com for the ARCA/CRA Super Series. The Scott Get Geared up 200 Presented by Federated Car Care for the ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards will follow at 9pm.

The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance will head to Anderson Speedway for this Saturday’s Edgewater Woods 100 Presented by JEGS.com. This will be the fourth visit to the fast quarter mile oval were a full field of 24 cars are currently entered to battle it out for 100 laps. Saturday’s event will be the 50th event to date for the crate late model series sanctioned by Champion Racing Association now in its fourth season.
Topping the list of entries is the only series driver to ever visit victory lane at Anderson Speedway, Glen Ellyn, Illinois driver Trent Snyder. Snyder has ties to the Anderson area and has kept his fans in that area very happy, fighting off all challengers to get victories in this event in 2011, 2012 and again in 2013 when he had to beat one of the best in the business, Georgia ace Bubba Pollard.
As it has been all season, Snyder will face a tough group of series regulars lead by current point’s leader Dan Leeck, who holds a slim three point lead over another Illinois racer Josh Nelms, who is in second. 2013 series Rookie of the Year Corey Deuser is in third place, he is 37 points behind Nelms. Howie Lettow Rookie of the Year Presented by Howe Racing Rookie Grant Quinlan is in fourth place,
only two points behind Deuser, while fellow rookie Dalton Armstrong is in fifth place, only two points behind Quinlan.
Other top series drivers entered include Dominique Van Wieringen, Hunter Baize, Jaxson Jacobs, Marc Jacobs, Jordan Miller, Jack Smith, Keith Sterkowitz, Jerry Andrews and fellow Howie Lettow Rookie of the Year Presented by Howe Racing rookies Tristan Van Wieringen, Cole Rouse, J.J. Haley and Chris Hacker, who has two Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman victories at Anderson Speedway the last two seasons. Baize, Quinlan and Haley have all been to victory lane once this season with the series.
Part-time series regular Lakeland, Florida native Steve Dorer is entered, he was the winner of the Stoops Freightliner Redbud 300 in 2011, as well as a runner-up finish in 2012 and a fourth place finish in the 2014 version on June 14th. Another part-time series regular entered is Keith Sterkowitz of Cedar Lake, Indiana, who has also gotten several Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman victories at Anderson Speedway. Also Kentucky driver Kevin Willis, who got a sixth place finish in his series debut at Salem Speedway, is entered.
There are several drivers entered to make their series 2014 debuts at Anderson on Saturday including Quinntan Bear who is currently eighth in Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman points with a season high second place finish at Anderson on June 13th. Also Jack Dossey Jr., father of current Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman points leader Jack Dossey III, Josh Cave and Mike Zielezinski in the Lorz Motorsports entry.
There is an open practice on Friday, pit gates open at 4PM, with open practice from 5pm to 8pm. Pit gates open on Saturday at 2pm, practice will begin at 5pm with qualifying starting at 6:45pm. The race program will begin at 8pm and will include the Edgewater Woods 100 Presented by JEGS.com for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour. Also racing on Saturday will be the WOFS Figure 8 cars in a 50 lap feature.
