Hometown Driver Accepts Super Select Invite

After winning two consecutive JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour titles, Jack Dossey III made the jump to Super Late Models full-time in the ARCA/CRA Super Series for the 2019. He quickly did something he was unable to do in his two championship years in the All-Stars Tour, winning the Super Series season opener at Anderson Speedway in April. That win earned him an invitation for the Speed51 Super Select on September 7 at Lucas Oil Raceway.

Earlier this week, Dossey became the latest driver to accept his invite for the Super Late Model All-Star Race on Brickyard 400 Weekend.

While other drivers will be making the trip from places around the country, Dossey will have the shortest trip of all. The Indianapolis native will just have to make the short drive across the Marion/Hendricks County line into Brownsburg for the $10,000 winner-take-all event. The opportunity to race against the country’s best in front of friends and family close to home has him looking forward to the inaugural Super Select.

“It’s kind of a big deal to us because there’s a lot of big name drivers coming and it’s a really big, prestigious event that Speed51 and Bob Dillner has put together with CRA,” Dossey told Speed51.com. “It’s a pretty big honor to be invited to something like this. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun racing so local to me in my hometown and having lots of friends and family come out and show some support with us to.”

Receiving the invitation for the Super Select came as a confidence boost for the 20-year-old. He says it shows he and his team they can compete with the top teams in America. They are approaching this race just like any other event, looking to have fun and score a good finish and a strong run.

“Getting invited to this huge event in my first full-time year is definitely an eye-opener,” he stated. “It shows that a lot of people have some confidence in me. I think you can only get invited if you win a race or do some good things. It’s a big confidence boost for me and the team, that’s for sure. We’re going to go there with the same goal as always, just to have some fun and see what we can do with the best in the country.”

With racing going on at all three Indianapolis-area tracks over the course of the weekend, the Circle City will have plenty to offer for fans from the Hoosier State andbeyond. It’s a weekend that Dossey looks forward to every year, and taking part in the weekend festivities has him all the more excited for it.

“It’s a huge weekend for racing in Indianapolis with the Brickyard, even the track I first started racing at (Indianapolis Speedrome) has a really big race going on,” he said. “It’s a huge weekend for Indiana diehard race fans everywhere, they’re really going to be torn on where they want to go to see some really good side-by-side racing.”

While the main goal is just to have fun during the inaugural Speed51 Super Select, awin in front of the hometown crowd would be huge for his career and as he chases after the ARCA/CRA Super Series championship. As a non-points event with the Super Series, he feels no pressure going into the event. “That would be a really big deal, especially with friends and family attending the event and the competition level and the prestige level. It would be a different thing with no added pressure of any kind of points or anything of that sort. It’d be a career monument for sure.”

Numerous advertising routes exist for the inaugural Speed51 Super Select, includinga Hard Charger Award, Best Appearing Car, Bold Move of the Race award and just about anything else someone can come up with.Companies are encouraged to email Bob Dillner at [email protected] and/or Adam Mackey at [email protected] for more information regarding advertising with the Speed51 Super Select.

A pair of features will be contested on September 7, one for the Super Late Models and a 100-lap race for the USAC Silver Crown Series. There will also be a 50-lap Super Late Model race that will be open to all drivers to compete in. That race will transfer more drivers into the Super Select field.
