Entry forms for the 47th Annual Snowball Derby and Snowflake 100 continue to fly into the Five Flags Speedway office in Pensacola, Florida with just over three weeks remaining until the biggest short track race in the country. Five Flags Speedway officials have informed Speed51.com that Brian Hoar and TJ Reaid are the latest drivers to be added to the Snowball entry list, while Dana Bowers has filed an entry for the Snowflake.
Hoar, an eight-time American-Canadian Tour champion from Williston, Vermont, enters the event following a 19th-place finish in the All-American 400 at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville (TN). He also recorded a fifth-place finish in the Winchester 400 at Winchester Speedway (IN) earlier this year. Hoar has never competed in a Snowball Derby, but the race was one of four Super Late Model crown jewels on his list to compete in this year.
Reaid enters the 47th Annual Snowball Derby after an encouraging top-five finish in the All-American 400 competing in a brand new racecar. The run at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville has him pumped up for a strong run at the Snowball Derby. Reaid has three career starts in the Derby, but has yet to finish all 300 laps of the race. He led 29 laps and appeared to have a car to win the race in 2012 before getting tangled up with former car owner Kyle Busch. With momentum on his side, Reaid is hoping to have a big weekend in Pensacola.
Bowers, a regional Late Model driver from Bedford, Oregon is a surprise entry into the Snowflake 100 this year. During the 2014 season, he recorded three top-10s and a top-five at Douglas County Speedway (OR) in Umpqua Survival Super Late Model action. He also recorded three top-10 Pacific Challenge Series finishes in three starts during the 2013 season. This year’s Snowflake 100 will be the first time Bowers has attempted to qualify for the race.
