Lakeland, FL — Round 6 of the Brandon Ford Wheel Man Series took place this past Saturday night at Citrus County Speedway and the action was intense for the 50 lap, $1000 to Win feature event. Twenty-eight teams were on display for the packed house at the 3/8th’s mile facility in Inverness, FL.

Chris Harvey set fast time and earned the QA1 Fast Qualifier Award with a time of 14.204. Harvey drew a 10 for the invert and worked his way up to 2nd before falling back to 3rd after a late-race restart.

Bobby Mobley rolled off in the 3rd and fell back to 6th before settling into the 5th spot with 2 to go. LJ Grimm made his 2nd appearance in the 2018 Brandon Ford Wheel Man Sportsman Series this year and wound up with a solid 4th place finish.

Current Championship Points leader Devin McLeod started back in the 9th position and had worked his way into position to take home another Wheel Man trophy, but after a strong battle with the leader, would have to settle for a hard-fought 2nd.

Jesse Henley started on the pole for the 50 lapper and withstood challenges from several drivers throughout the event. He held off all contenders to take home his 2nd victory of the season. Henley honored long-time sponsor and local race enthusiast Jim Curry, who had recently passed away, by giving the Wheel Man Trophy to Jim’s son, Jay.
