After torrential rain impacted the Slinger Super Speedway (WI) during qualifying for the 41st Annual Slinger Nationals on Tuesday, the prestigious event has been postponed to Wednesday, July 8.
Further details regarding the postponement have not been announced at this time by the speedway, including an updated schedule for Wednesday and whether or not Tuesday’s qualifying session will stand. The storm brought rain which flooded the infield area of the speedway, as well as hail and strong winds.
Those with pit passes will need to keep their wristbands and swap them for a new wristband on Wednesday, according to the track on social media. They will be required to turn in Tuesday’s wristband in order to receive Wednesday’s pit pass.
Luke Fenhaus was fastest in single-car qualifying for the Slinger Nationals before heavy rain arrived at the speedway. Casey Johnson, Bubba Pollard, Rich Loch and John DeAngelis, Jr. completed the top five. 27 cars had taken time in the qualifying session, with only two cars left to qualify out of the 29-car field.
Race fans who purchased Speed51’s pay-per-view broadcast of the event will still be able to watch the event on Wednesday, or on-demand at any time. Those who would like to purchase the broadcast to watch Wednesday can click here.
