The Granite State Pro Stock Series will leave Monadnock Speedway Saturday night with a new driver sitting at the top of the championship standings.
Going into the JBH 100 at the Winchester, New Hampshire oval, points leader Cory Casagrande of Stafford Springs, CT will not be in attendance due to a pre-planned family function.
“I’ll be giving up my points lead for my brother Kyle’s bachelor party this weekend,” Casagrande explained. “I wish everyone the best of luck and will be back for White Mountain on Saturday, August 18.”
Close behind Casagrande are four drivers separated by only ten points. Jacob Dore (196) sits second with an eight point advantage over Devin O’Connell (188) and Nick Lascuola (188). South Berwick, Maine driver Joey Doiron (186) sits close behind the tie for third.
At the halfway mark of the 2018 season, series president Mike Parks reflects on his dear friend and the namesake of Saturday’s race, John Hoyt.
“The JBH 100 has a special place for everybody involved with GSPSS. John Hoyt (JBH) was the driving force pushing me to do this deal, and I think he would be thrilled to see where we are,” Parks said. “A fantastic title sponsor with Springfield Buick GMC, an amazing pace truck, along with a full field of top drivers is something he would appreciate.”
Pit gates will open at 1:00 pm this Saturday. Practice will begin at 3:00 pm and racing will commence at 6:00 pm. Pit gate admission is $40
The main gate opens at 3:00 pm: General admission: Adults $20, Seniors $15, Ages 11-18 $5, 10 and under Free.
