The Granite State Pro Stock Series recently notified its competitors that beginning with the 2019 racing season, an engine seal program would be implemented. There will be a three-year rollout of this program culminating with all engines being required to comply during the 2022 season. The rules and technical specifications for this program going forward will be found on the GSPSS website, which will be updated by January 1, 2019.

‘The current program as it exists isn’t bad, but we feel like we need to get back to a seal program,” series president Mike Parks said. “We feel like the program that Rick has developed will best serve the series and its competitors”.

The seal program that has been chosen is the RPM seal alliance, a system of checks and balances being set up and maintained by Rick Paya at RPM Racing Engines. Currently, there are seven engine builders in New England and Canada eligible to seal, work on and check engines within the program.

“Currently there are approximately 350 motors registered in the program which was started in 2015,” Paya said. “We look to collaborate with each of the registered builders to ensure the integrity of the program, while working to build a stronger and more robust benefit to each series or track, utilizing the alliance.”

In addition, new engine builders are encouraged to inquire about joining the alliance.

“All potential new builders will be vetted for ability as well as credibility, and any builder not remaining in compliance with rules and regulations of the program will be eliminated,” Paya explained.

In addition to the GM 604 option, the series is working with Paya to develop a competitive option for teams who are interested in running Ford engines. Anyone interested in competing with Ford power is asked to contact either Mike Parks at 802-558-8954 or head technical inspector Nathan Kelly at [email protected]
