The Granite State Pro Stock Series announced on Tuesday evening it will not race this weekend at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl.
“Due to a variety of factors, including a busy schedule across the region in the next few weeks, including the GSPSS $10,000 to win race at Claremont Motorsports Park on July 31, we do not feel it is in the best interest of the great fans of the Speedbowl for us to have a show with a limited amount of cars,” reads the announcement. “We want to give our best to the dedicated race fans. We are currently looking for an alternative date later in the year.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause & look forward to seeing everyone at Claremont next weekend!”
The series will now turn its focus to the Granite State Nationals at Claremont Motorsports Park on July 31. That event pays $10,000 to the winner, the biggest payday for the series when it was introduced last season. Derek Griffith won last year’s running of the Granite State Nationals.
