On Sunday, December 4, the nation’s most prestigious asphalt short track race will run in front of thousands of people in Pensacola, Florida. That race, the Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway, has a new lap sponsorship program in effect for its 49th running. It’s an affordable way for businesses, race teams and race fans to receive exposure during the major stock car racing event.
The 49th Annual Snowball Derby is a 300-lap race, which means there’s 300 laps to be sponsored. While a bunch of laps have already been taken, plenty are still available for your business to sponsor to gain awareness, or to just give the competitors some extra cash because you’re a big fan of short track racing.
Businesses can purchase laps in their name as another tool to get their name out there. Race fans can purchase laps in honor of their favorite drivers and teams. Literally, anybody can purchase a lap.
The new lap sponsor program, which been created through a partnership with Five Flags Speedway officials and Speed51.com, will see all of the money raised through the program go directly into the racer’s pockets.
Should all 300 laps be sold at $50 per lap, there is a possibility for racers to earn upwards of $15,000 throughout the race in lap money alone. The lap money will not be guaranteed for unsold laps.
A list of available laps is now available for viewing on Speed51.com by clicking here, so you can choose which particular lap to pick and if it is still open. Whether it’s your favorite number, your favorite driver’s number or you just to support one of the most prestigious short track races in the country, the door is open for you.
The sooner you purchase the lap(s), the sooner you’ll receive exposure. All lap sponsors will be displayed on a chart on Speed51.com, the official news site of the Snowball Derby. Lap sponsors will also be seen in the official Snowball Derby program at the track, and will receive mentions on the track’s public address system during the big race.
For information on how to purchase laps, please email [email protected] or call the Five Flags Speedway office at 850-944-8400. Laps will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
