Georgia Young Gun Speeds to Another Montgomery Victory

Eearlier this year, Jake Garcia won the biggest race at Montgomery Motor Speedway, the Alabama 200. The Georgia young gun backed that victory up on Saturday, winning the Saturday of Speed 125.

Garcia, who entered the night with the points lead in Montgomery’s Show Me the Money Pro Late Model Series, took the lead from Jett Noland on lap 75 of the 125-lap event and led the rest of the way for his second Montgomery victory of the year.

Those two wins have come in the two longest races on the Show Me the Money Series schedule, showing his ability to persevere over a long-distance race.  Still, the driver complimented his team for preparing the car that he parked in victory lane.

“I’ve just got to thank all the guys for giving me a good car today,” said Garcia.  “I couldn’t have done it without them.  It handled really good all day and gave us the win, so you can’t be sad with that.”

While Garcia cruised to the victory in the final 50 laps, the battle to the front was not so easy. After posting the fifth fastest time in time trials, Garcia lined up eighth following a redraw of the fast qualifiers.

Garcia methodically worked his way through the field before ultimately battling Noland side-by-side for several laps.  Garcia took the lead for good with 50 laps to go on his way to the win.

“I like to race people clean, so people race me clean back,” said Garcia.  “Fortunately, that’s what people did tonight.”

Jackson Boone took home a second-place finish in the race, with Noland settling for third.  Colin Allman rallied to a fourth-place run after missing out on qualifying and starting at the rear of the field.  Justin Bonnett completed the top five in his first race since a fiery crash at the 2019 Snowflake 100 at Five Flags Speedway (FL).

The Show Me the Money Pro Late Model Series will continue at Montgomery on Saturday, September 26.
