Gaulding is no stranger to Phoenix International Raceway. He’s made three previous starts at the 1.0-mile asphalt oval with an average starting position of 4.6, and an average finishing position of 12. Gaulding has had one win (2013 – PIR) and five Top-10s in seven starts at NASCAR tracks 1.0-mile in distance.
From the Driver’s Seat with Gray Gaulding: “I always love coming out to Phoenix. It’s especially nice coming back to a track that I’ve won at. It’s going to be a busy weekend running in both the K&N West Series Car and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Silverado, but I have two great teams at NTS Motorsports that will give me a shot at winning both nights.”
On top of Box with Crew Chief Doug Howe: “Not racing in over a month has given us time to regroup and fine tune our K&N cars. We are bringing the same chassis we won the race with in 2013. We’ve also had success with it this year in the K&N East Series. It’s a longer race this time, so tires will be important, along with staying calm and not overdriving the corners.”
Chassis Facts: Doug Howe has chosen chassis NTS-134 for this weekend’s Casino Arizona 100 at Phoenix International Raceway. Gray won in 2013 with this same chassis.
