FK Rod Ends Short Track Driver of the Month for May

Rising to the challenge is what separates a top-notch driver from the rest of the pack. Whether it’s dominating a race, going on a winning streak or sealing a win with a late-race pass, drivers slowly rise to the top of the field and make a name for themselves.

That’s why FK Rod Ends, who has nearly 10,000 combinations of rod ends and spherical bearings available and carefully crafts their products, is proud to honor a monthly “Team FK Driver of the Month” from the short track ranks of America on Each month, an esteemed panel of short track industry insiders will vote on which driver had the most success on the track. The driver with the most votes will then be the “Team FK Driver of the Month” and will receive a $25 product certificate to use at FK Rod Ends. At the end of the 2020 season, the driver that received the most votes throughout the season will then be the “Team FK Driver of the Year” and will be awarded a (to be determined) prize from FK Rod Ends. Overton’s return behind the wheel of the Wells Motorsports No.76 has been a strong one.  “Big Sexy” kicked off May by winning races on back-to-back nights, first with the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series at Lancaster Super Speedway, then in the invitation-only Palmetto Invitational at Cherokee Speedway just one night later.  He earned just over $16,000 in those two days.

On Memorial Day Weekend, Overton went back to victory lane at Georgia’s Needmore Speedway in the Gene Maine Memorial.  He dominated the event, taking the win over big names such as Jonathan Davenport, Kyle Bronson, and Brian Shirley.

After kicking off May with two big wins, Overton also ended the month with two marquee wins.  Both wins came with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at East Bay Raceway Park on May 26 and 27, leading wire-to-wire in both feature races.

For his hot start in Dirt Late Model racing’s return, Brandon Overton has been named FK Rod Ends Driver of the Month for May 2020.

Other drivers receiving votes this month were Carson Hocevar (ARCA/CRA Super Series Show Me State Showdown), Bubba Pollard (Baby Rattler and JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Show Me State Showdown), Ty Majeski (Rattler 250), Josh Berry (Hickory Motor Speedway Twin-51’s), and Tyler Courtney (USAC Midget and Winged Sprint Car Wins).
