Rising to the challenge is what separates a top-notch driver from the rest of the pack. Whether it’s dominating a race, going on a winning streak or sealing a win with a late-race pass, drivers slowly rise to the top of the field and make a name for themselves.
That’s why the FK Rod Ends, who has nearly 10,000 combinations of rod ends and spherical bearings available and carefully crafts their products, is proud to honor a monthly “Team FK Driver of the Month” from the short track ranks of America on Speed51.com. Each month, an esteemed panel of short track industry insiders will vote on which driver had the most success on the track. The driver with the most votes will then be the “Team FK Driver of the Month” and will receive a $25 product certificate to use at FK Rod Ends. At the end of the 2020 season, the driver that received the most votes throughout the season will then be the “Team FK Driver of the Year” and will be awarded a (to be determined) prize from FK Rod Ends. The winner of the “Team FK Driver of the Month” for the month of March is…
Super Late Models
Racing for the month of March was relegated to just one weekend due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. That weekend saw Matt Craig take the CARS Super Late Model Tour season opener at Southern National Motorsports Park (NC) over a stout field that included names like Bubba Pollard and Stephen Nasse.
That win came just one weekend after Craig dominated the PRA Super Late Model Tour season opener at the Kenly, NC track on February 29. The North Carolina driver is two-for-two in the 2020 season to date and has led 370 of the 375 lap he has taken part in.
For his dominance in the start of Super Late Model season in North Carolina, Matt Craig has been named FK Rod Ends Driver of the Month for March 2020.
Other drivers receiving votes this month were Dale McDowell (March Madness), Will Herrington (Crate Late Model and Street Stock wins at Cochran), Taylor Gray (CARS Tour Late Model Stock winner), Chandler Smith (ARCA winner at Phoenix), and Devon Morgan (eRattler 250 winner).
