Late Model racers throughout North America will have one final chance this weekend to earn an invitation to compete in the inaugural All-Star race for Super Late Models, the Speed51 Super Select at Lucas Oil Raceway (IN) on Saturday, September 8.

With big Late Model events being held during Labor Day Weekend, the final group of invitees for the $10,000 “Winner-Take-All” Super Late Model All-Star Race will be announced early next week.

Five different races on this weekend’s short track schedule will be considered “lock-in” races for the Speed51 Super Select.

Highlighting the list of lock-in races will be another inaugural event, the Canadian Short Track Nationals at Jukasa Motor Speedway.  The winner of the APC United Late Model Series race on Saturday night and the winner of the $50,000-to-win (CAD) Pro Late Model main event on Sunday night will both receive invitations to compete in the Speed51 Super Select.

Midwest racers will also have a pair of chances to earn invitations over the weekend.  The first chance will come Saturday night when the ARCA Midwest Tour visits the Dells Raceway Park in Wisconsin.  Two days later, on Labor Day, ARCA/CRA Super Series drivers will have their chance to earn an invitation by winning the World Stock Car Festival main event at Winchester Speedway (IN).

The final invitation for race winners will be given to the victor of one of Canada’s biggest annual Pro Stock events, the McLaughlin Roof Trusses 250 at Speedway 660 in New Brunswick.

If winners of these events accept their selection, they will receive a free entry and a guaranteed starting spot in the inaugural Speed51 Super Select.

Drivers who do not receive an invite are encouraged to file an entry for the 30-lap qualifying race, “The Open,” that will be held prior to the main event on September 8.  An entry form for “The Open” race can be found by clicking here.

The inaugural Speed51 Super Select is a combination event with the USAC Silver Crown Series presented by Traxxas on Saturday, September 8 at Lucas Oil Raceway.  The facility is located just up the road from that weekend’s Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Both races are being held just down the road from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on the eve of the Brickyard 400.

Those who can’t make it to Indianapolis will be able to watch the Speed51 Super Select Super Late Model All-Star Race via a pay-per-view broadcast on
