Field Set for Whelen All-Star Shootout at New Hampshire

Five-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Doug Coby and Monster Energy Cup Series stars Ryan Newman and Ryan Preece are just a few of the drivers who will compete next Friday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

In the sixth annual All Star Shootout as part of the Cup Series weekend at the 1.058-mile oval, 20 Whelen Modified Tour drivers will fight for bragging rights in a Friday afternoon special event. The race is the only non-points race on the series schedule.

With five titles, Coby leads the list of champions that are eligible. It also includes two-time Whelen Southern Modified Tour champion Andy Seuss, Preece, defending champion Justin Bonsignore, Bobby Santos III and Ron Silk.

The rest of the field was filled by winners and top points contenders on the Whelen Modified Tour. Additional drivers eligible by virtue of victories include Timmy Solomito, Jimmy Blewett, Woody Pitkat, Eric Goodale, Jon McKennedy, Patrick Emerling and Chase Dowling.

Defending Sunoco Rookie of the Year Tommy Catalano, Craig Lutz, Matt Swanson, Wade Cole, Bryan Dauzat and Calvin Carroll are also able to compete.

In five prior All Star Shootouts at New Hampshire, Ryan Newman (2014), Woody Pitkat (2015), Bobby Santos (2016), Ryan Preece (2017) and Justin Bonsignore (2018) have been to Victory Lane.

The All Star Shootout takes place on Friday, July 19, at 2 p.m. The ninth race of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour points championship schedule will take place on Saturday, July 20, at New Hampshire.
