Carnesville, GA – Officials with the FASTRAK Racing Series and Virginia Motor Speedway have announced that the $50,000 to win, $2,050 to start 2019 FASTRAK World Championship will have two provisional starting spots. The first will be a track provisional for Virginia Motor Speedway. The highest finisher in points for the FASTRAK Victory Lap Pro Late Models track points that doesn’t qualify for the A-main will receive a provisional starting spot. The second provisional will be for the FASTRAK Racing Series. The driver, highest in points who competes in the FASTRAK Racing Series on the AFCO Crate Spec Shocks and does not qualify for the A-Main, will receive the provisional starting spot. All drivers eligible for a provisional must attempt to qualify for the A-Main through qualifying, heats, and B-Mains.
“We want to give the weekly drivers here at Virginia Motor Speedway something to race for all season long,” said Dave Seay of Virginia Motor Speedway, “It’s a way for us to give back to the drivers that support us and FASTRAK all season.”
The addition of the two provisionals will bring the starting field to 26 cars. With the addition of those starting spots the total purse will increase from $158,075 to $162,175. The 2019 FASTRAK World Championship will be held on September 13th and 14th at the ½ mile Jamaica, VA oval and is the richest race in the history of Pro Late Model Racing.
There will be non-qualifiers’ races for drivers who do not make the A-Main. The number of non-qualifiers’ races will be based on the total car count for the FASTRAK World Championship. The purse for the non-qualifiers’ races will be announced at a later date.
“Adding two spots to the field adds $4,100 to the purse,” said FASTRAK Executive Vice President DJ Irvine, “This historic event keeps on getting bigger, and we’ll be adding more purse money with non-qualifiers’ races in the coming weeks.”
