COEBURN, Va. – Rain won once again last Saturday, August 2 at Lonesome Pine Raceway, forcing the cancellation of another race. The Pine will try again this Saturday, August 9 to get the green flag in the air.
The Wallace Kia Late Model Stock Car division will take on the high banks twice with twin 40-lap features. Street Stock, Mod-4, Pure-4, Rookie Pure-4 and Pure Street/Iron Warriors divisions will also be in action. The annual Faster Pastor race will also take place this Saturday for Whelen and Belcher Insurance Agency Night at The Pine.
Pastors won’t be racing race cars, but their riding lawn mowers! All pastors are invited to bring their personal mowers to race!
Grandstand gates open at 4 p.m. on Saturday, qualifying is set for 5 p.m. and racing begins at 7 p.m. Adult admission is only $10, with children ages 12-and-under admitted free. Any church member that brings a bulletin/flyer will receive $2 off admission.
On Friday, August 8th, Kingsport (Tenn.) Speedway will see action in the Late Model Stock, Street Stock, Pure-4, Rookie Pure-4, Mod-4 and Legends divisions for Back to School Night. Racing begins at 8 p.m. on Friday.
