Fast Facts: Before racing begins on Friday night, drivers will have an opportunity to test their cars during practice day on Thursday.  When the racing begins on Friday it will signify the start of nine straight nights of racing at the New Smyrna Beach oval.  A trio of divisions — Super Late Models, Pro Late Models and Florida Modifieds — will compete seven times during the nine-day stretch.  The Tour-type Modifieds will arrive Monday and race five consecutive nights.

Without defending Super Late Model champion Stephen Nasse’s name on the current entry list, it appears as though the streak of 25 consecutive season without a back-to-back SLM champion will continues.  This year’s battle in the Super Late Model division could be the most wide open that it has been in recent years.  Ryan Moore, the 2013 champion, could slide into the role as one of the favorites after winning the Red Eye 100 at the track earlier this year.  2018 USAC National Midget Series champion Logan Seavey, 2018 PASS National champion Derek Griffith and last year’s surprise star Sam Mayer could all be drivers to keep an eye on. Oh, there’s also that guy Bubba Pollard, who will be driving the No. 11 Super Late Model driver owned by Florida legend David Rogers. Rogers will miss the World Series due to a minor medical procedure.  Carson Kvapil could also be a threat as he has paired up with Toby Nuttleman, the crew chief most known for his success with Ty Majeski, to chase a Speedweeks title. Former Winchester 400 winner Travis Braden will join in on the fun Monday after competing in the ARCA Racing Series event at Daytona over the weekend.

Once again in 2019, the Tour-type Modifieds have assembled a strong field of drivers from the Northeast and beyond.  Five-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Doug Coby will attempt his first full week of action at New Smyrna Speedway.  His rival Ryan Preece is also entered but will only be competing in the first three races at New Smyrna before heading over to Daytona to begin his NASCAR Cup Series season.  Defending champion “Big Money” Matt Hirschman returns once again and will be joined by 2018 Race of Champion (RoC) Asphalt Modified Series champion Chuck Hossfeld.  “Showtime” Jimmy Blewett will also be in action and feels as though he’ll have his best shot yet after teaming up with Gershow Motorsports for the five nights of racing.

Notables on the Pro Late Model entry list include former PASS North champion Cassius Clark, former Snowball Derby winner Augie Grill and Late Model rookie Sammy Smith, who will be driving for Anthony Campi Racing.  Grill will also be driving a Florida Modified during the week.
