Notes: Derek Thorn enters Saturday’s Summer Showdown looking to complete a “Showdown Sweep,” winning both the Winter and Summer Showdown. Thorn has finished third and second in previous two running’s of the mid-summer race. Preston Peltier will be looking to add another big win to his resume after heartbreak during last year’s Showdown. Peltier led 160 laps in that race before a mechanical failure ended his day. Texas driver Chris Davidson will be making his ever trip to the Summer Showdown. After being involved in wreck during the Mark Galloway Memorial at Evergreen earlier this year, Tayler Riddle will be looking to defend his Showdown win from one year ago. Meanwhile, Taylor’s brother Owen Riddle will be looking to ride the momentum from his recent Montana 200 victory and score back-to-back big wins. Sixty-one year old Northwest racing legend Garrett Evans will make the Summer Showdown one of his select races in 2017 and will be looking for his first career win in the event.
