Notes: The Musket 250 will be the main event during the inaugural Full Throttle Weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour stars will be joined by the NASCAR K&N Pro Series and the NASCAR Pinty’s Series. The Musket 250 will be the longest-distance race (264.50 miles) in the history of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. There will be a break at or near the conclusion of lap 100 that will give teams five minutes to make adjustments, change tires and refuel.
Justin Bonsignore heads back to “The Magic Mile” as a seven-time winner already in 2018. Bonsignore won the Whelen All-Star Shootout earlier this year at New Hampshire and won the September race at the Magic Mile in 2016. Bobby Santos III is a four-time winner at New Hampshire and the most recent winner, as he nipped Chase Dowling by .014 seconds back in July. Five-time tour champion Doug Coby will be looking to turn around a subpar season by scoring one of the biggest victories of his career. Coby is also a four-time winner at New Hampshire. Ryan Preece will not be behind the wheel of the TS Haulers No. 6 car this weekend. Instead, he’ll be piloting Gary Putnam’s No. 77 that was piloted by Ryan Newman in July. Connecticut driver Jeff Rocco, the brother of former NASCAR Whelen All-American Series national champion Keith Rocco, and Southern ace Burt Myers will both be driving Eddie Harvey-owned Modifieds. Matt Swanson will be behind the wheel of the legendary Ole Blue No. 3 as he has been named the replacement driver for Rowan Pennink, who recently retired from racing. Patrick Emerling will be competing in the Musket 250 on Friday and Saturday before heading to Lancaster National Speedway for the U.S. Open on Sunday. Although we have yet to confirm this, don’t be surprised if Tommy Catalano pulls the weekend double as well.
