Fast Facts: After being contested during the month of September in recent years, the Alabama 200 has been moved up to the month of March in 2019.  Early results show the move being a positive one, with a strong entry list already on paper for the 200-lap, $7,000-to-win Pro Late Model race.  In addition to the big check on the line, drivers will also be racing for the coveted black bear trophy.

Casey Roderick enters the race as the two-time defending winner of the Alabama 200.  Roderick has experienced loads of success at Montgomery in recent years, including a Show Me the Money Series championship in 2017.  Saturday’s race will serve as the season opener for the 2019 Show Me the Money Series season.

Roderick will have to beat one of the best in the business in order to score the Alabama 200 trifecta, as Late Model star Bubba Pollard has filed an entry for the event.  This will be Pollard’s first attempt at the race since it switched over to a Pro Late Model event.

Another tough competitor on the entry list is former Snowball Derby and Alabama native Augie Grill.  Those who know Grill know that he doesn’t typically pre-enter a lot of event; however, Montgomery General Manager Stan Narrison said on “The Morning Bullring” Monday that he had already received an entry for Grill’s No. 112.

CRA SpeedFest 2019 winner Connor Okrzesik, who also scored his first Late Model win last year at Montgomery, has filed an entry and will be looking to score another big early season victory.  Youngster Colby Howard will be behind the wheel of the always-competitive Anthony Campi No. 81 Pro Late Model for the race.
