Notes: The Oxford 250 is considered by many to be the biggest one-day show in asphalt Super Late Model racing. Nine former winners are currently entered for this year’s race. Thirty-four cars will transfer into the main event through heat races, consolation races and the last chance race. There will be two PASS North provisionals, one PASS South provisional, one PASS National provisional and one Oxford Plains Speedway provisional. There are also a handful of drivers who have earned provisionals for the race through the Road to the Oxford 250 program. The race will feature live pit stops; however, drivers will not lose laps while pitting under caution because caution laps don’t count.
Curtis Gerry, the defending Oxford 250 winner, enters Sunday’s race undefeated in PASS competition at Oxford Plains since his win one year ago. Georgia Super Late Model star Bubba Pollard will be making the trip north to Oxford to make his Oxford 250 debut. Defending ARCA Racing Series champion Austin Theriault will return to the Oxford 250 for just his third race behind the wheel this season. Gabe Brown, a 15-year-old Super Late Model driver from New Hampshire, will be locked into the race as the current SLM points leader at Oxford. Derek Kneeland, the spotter for Kyle Larson on the NASCAR Cup Series circuit, will make a rare appearance behind the wheel of a Super Late Model. Ben Rowe will be bringing out a new Senneker chassis as he attempts to win the Oxford 250 for the third time.
