The Speed51.com team has undergone some changes at the top of the company recently with key employees taking on new roles. Matt Kentfield is now Speed51’s Executive Director and Brandon Paul has moved into the Editor position that Kentfield has left behind.
Kentfield’s new role will have him overseeing all facets of the 51 companies; he and company owner Bob Dillner will spearhead the growth of 51 TV and develop new business opportunities for the company for the present and future. He will also remain the company’s lead graphic designer.
Kentfield will also celebrate his 10th anniversary with Speed51 in October of this year.
“51 has grown leaps and bounds in my almost 10 years of being with the company, but I know there’s even further heights our talented team can take it to,” said Kentfield. “The company was founded on bringing short track news to fans like no one had before. Since then, it’s safe to say that we have accomplished that goal. We’ll continue to find new outlets for our original form short track news, information and live coverage that sets standards across short track racing.
“In 2015 and beyond, I’m honored to head up the effort to continue bringing short track racing to more people in more places than ever before like only Speed51.com, 51 Sports and our team of passionate reporters can.”
Paul joined Speed51 at the beginning of the 2013 racing season, when he started off as a contributor, and he has quickly moved up the ranks. Paul became the Northeast Editor in February of 2014 and held that title until January of 2015. He is now becoming the Editor for Speed51.com, and will be responsible for the companies editorial duties and day-to-day content.
“I’m very appreciative of the opportunities that Bob and Angie Dillner have presented me with throughout my time working with Speed51.com,” said Paul. “Since joining 51 in 2013, it’s truly been a pleasure to work with the group of talented professionals that we have assembled. With a lot of new and exciting things in store for the 2015 season, I couldn’t be any more excited to have a larger involvement with the company moving forward.”
With Kentfield and Paul in their new positions, and 51 TV continuing to grow, Speed51 is poised to have one if its best years yet.
“I believe that Speed51.com will grow even more with the new roles that both Matt and Brandon will be in,”said Bob Dillner, owner of Speed51.com. “We have a responsibility to bring racing fans the information and a unique behind-the-scenes perspective and Brandon and the staff will be able to accomplish that without a doubt.
“Matt Kentfield and I will work hand-in-hand on several projects this year that will bring new things to the short track fan as well as advance our business as a whole. He has been the guy that has made 51 tick for so many years and we hope these advancements will be enjoyable to all of our viewers.”
