Monroe, WA: On Saturday June 7 Evergreen Speedway will celebrate its 60th Anniversary. The Genie Terex presented by NAPA Auto Parts Reunion Night will feature the Speedway Chevrolet NASCAR Whelen All American Series Super Late Model 75 on the 3/8-mile oval plus the Outlaw Figure 8’s, Buzz Inn Steakhouse Figure 8’s and Foster Press NASCAR Mini-Stocks/Outlaw Compacts. In addition the next ten added to the original 50 best ever drivers at Evergreen Speedway will be introduced. The evenings racing and celebration will be capped off with a big post-race Reunion Mixer with Music, Beer Garden and Food with all present & past drivers/employees and fans welcome. Racing begins at 6pm with the Fan Fest at 5pm.

Reaching 60 years in operation for a race track is a tremendous feat. Evergreen Speedway is one the very few that have endured and remains open. Not only open but nationally famous. One of the top racing periodicals, Speedway Illustrated, in their latest issue named Evergreen Speedway’s $100,000.00 Summer Showdown on June 27 & 28 as one of the six must see bucket list races in the country.

Super Late Models will go for 75-laps on the 3/8-mile oval with present point leader Daniel Moore trying to keep or widen his 8-point edge. Second in points Mike Holden, with one win, matching Moore, will be after that second win as will the other winner this season Tyler Tanner who is third in points just 12-points back. Winless but in the chase for the points championship is Jason Kooy a mere 18-points behind last season’s champion Moore. Another strong field of cars is expected for Reunion Night including 2-time champion Shane Harding making his season debut as will Michael Prudnick.

The former Super Figure Eights now called the Outlaw Figure 8’s have their warm-up race for the upcoming 60-minutes of FEAR on June 14. Defending champion Ricky Dietz is the current point leader by 1-point over Mike Steltz. Two time champion Jake Repin is in the mix just 3-points in arrears.

Toby Jenkins leads the Stinger 8 point’s chase. Jenkins has two women drivers in his rear view mirror with Joselyn LaFleur and Jessica Gray in second and third respectively. This four-cylinder figure eight division is always competitive and draws a fair number of cars which makes traffic at the X quite congested.

Trenton Moriarity and Bobby DeYoung have seesawed at the top of the points list in the Mini-Stock Division. Just 2-points separate the two heading into Saturday’s races. The best seat watching those two is third in points Andrew Schukar only 11-points out of the lead. Throw in Brad Thomas who is 18-points back and the divisional title looks to be highly contested all the way through the season.

All former racers have been invited to Reunion Night and will receive two free tickets by pre-registering online. So far over 75 former racers have registered. The new additions to the top 50 to make up the top 60 will be introduced during the night’s activities. Then everyone (past & present drivers/employees and fans) is invited to stick around for the post-race mixer with music from the 60’s & 70’s, Beer Garden and Food all after the races.
