(TOLEDO, Ohio) – From black-tie tuxedos to their finest G-Force Racing Gear, it’s time to get busy in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards.
With the 62nd annual ARCA national championship awards banquet coming this Saturday night, December 13 in Indianapolis, many teams will turn right around and head south…to Daytona Beach, Florida…to the “World Center of Racing” for two days of ARCA open testing December 19 and 20 at Daytona Int’l Speedway.
Pre-season entries, in preparation for the 52nd annual Lucas Oil 200 presented by MAVTV American Real February 14, 2015, are building nicely for the Friday-Saturday open test. Sunday, December 21 will be reserved as a weather day for the open test if necessary.
Currently, 46 drivers are penciled in already with more entries on the way. Eight-time Daytona winner Bobby Gerhart tops the list of notables entered, a list that also includes Will Kimmel, Brennan Poole, Leilani Munter, Cody Coughlin, Michael Lira and Hasselager, Denmark’s Thomas Serwin. Serwin is part of a contingent of international flavor, which also includes Christian Celaya (Caborca, Mexico), Raul Orlandini (Lima, Peru) and Amber Balcaen (Winnipeg, Manitoba).
Two drivers from ARCA’s “Road to Daytona” program are entered in Kimmel Racing Fords, including the ARCA CRA Super Series champ Travis Braden and the ARCA Midwest Tour champ Ty Majeski.
The open test from Daytona will feature live timing and scoring at ARCAracing.com of all on-track activities, scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 5 daily, with an hour break for lunch at noon.
