With less than a month remaining until the 52nd Snowball Derby, the entry list is already packed with drivers from the Late Model ranks of North America that plan on heading to Five Flags Speedway December 4-8. For those teams that are planning on heading to the Florida Panhandle in a few weeks’ time, don’t delay on getting your entry in.
The reason being: the sooner drivers file their entry form, the better parking spot they’ll receive on pit road at Five Flags Speedway. Pit stalls for each team’s hauler are decided on a first-come-first-served basis determined by the order in which entries are received.
We are not talking about just race day on Sunday, but rather for the entire week from when teams load in on Wednesday, December 4 to when the haulers clear the infield on Sunday, December 8. Race teams can choose to park along the main pit road, on either side of the old infield quarter-mile, or on the back road to the inside of the backstretch.
Depending on their parking spots, many teams use the opportunity for pre-race promotion for sponsors or just to show off some of the cool wraps and/or paint jobs that they bring down for Derby week. Spots are not guaranteed, so if you have yet to submit your Snowball Derby entry, be sure to act now.
