New Brunswick, Canada – Joey Doiron and the #73 Wild Willy’s Burgers/JBJ Machine team returned to their best form this past weekend in the sixth race of the Pro All Stars Series North season at Speedway 660.  After leading for most of the race, Doiron’s engine started to loose power through the race’s final stages as he nursed his 73 machine home to a third place finish.  This is Doiron’s best result of 2014 after a rough start, and he knows this is a sign of things to come from his team.

“It’s tough to give one away like that, I feel like we had the best car here tonight and you don’t get opportunities like that every week,” Doiron said exhaustingly after the race, “We brought our car up to Dale Shaw’s this past weekend we found a few small things that really helped us tonight and I can’t thank my crew enough for all their hard work, this is a sign of things to come, we’ve turned a corner and I’m ready to compete for more wins.”

Doiron started the 150 lap feature event from the ninth position, but quickly worked his way through the field.  After a few early cautions, Doiron was able to get into a rhythm into the top five, and work his way into the race lead with just under 50 laps to go.  With just a handful of laps remaining, Doiron’s motor began to break down, making it difficult for Doiron to get going on restarts and compete against Johnny Clark and DJ Shaw behind him.  Doiron and Clark battled hard on a few late restarts, but Doiron’s engine issues relegated him to a third place finish at the checkered flag.

After their first podium of the season, Joey Doiron and the 73 team will be hoping to continue on this momentum throughout the summer months as they have some of their best tracks coming up with Beech Ridge Motor Speedway and the Oxford 250 next month.  The next race however is once again north of the border at Autodrome Montmagny Speedway in Montmagny, Quebec, Canada on June 28th.  We hope to see many of our Canadian fans at this event once again and we thank them all for their support this past weekend, along with all of our friends and fans following at home as well.
