(MOBILE, Ala.) – Grant Enfinger, the winner of the last two editions of the ARCA Mobile 200, looks to make it three-in-a-row this weekend in his home state at the Mobile International Speedway (MIS). Enfinger will pilot the No. 23 Snap Track / DSLD Homes / Allegiant Travel GMS Racing Chevrolet Impala.
Enfinger has three prior starts at the Mobile, Ala. short track. The Alabama native has scored two wins and a 13th place finish. He has led laps in all three MIS races, for a total of 398 of 607 total laps run. The Fairhope, Ala. native is gunning for his 10th trip to ARCA’s victory lane, and his seventh short-track victory.
“There are a lot of folks that follow our racing that can’t make it to a lot of the races, where at Mobile, they don’t have any excuse,” Enfinger said. “We’ll have a big crowd there. Mobile is a race that we circle on the calendar every year. It’s pretty cool to be going there this year and trying to become a three-time winner there. (Crew chief) Jeff (Stankiewicz) is trying to go for a three-peat too. He won at Kansas last year with Spencer (Gallagher), and won at Daytona with us. It’s going to be a big weekend, and hopefully we can finish it up in victory lane again.”
Enfinger will pilot chassis No. 201 in hopes of capturing his third victory at his home track. In 2014, Enfinger scored his fifth of six wins in this chassis at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Mich.
The ARCA Mobile 200 at MIS will go green at 2:00 p.m. CDT. ARCA Radio will broadcast the ARCA Mobile 200 in addition to LIVE timing and scoring on ARCAracing.com.
“It’s a huge deal to be able to run in front of the home crowd and to be in front of all the guys that can’t see us on a weekly basis with the ARCA (Racing Series). Mobile is my home track, so that’s what my driving style was built around,” Enfinger said. “The fact that you have to keep a lot of corner speed in the center. It’s high-banked, fast short track, which is just right up my alley. It’s also a place where you have to conserve tires. We’ll drop off (lap times) a good bit pace wise during the run. I like the races like that where you have to manage tires, manage your car as well as your competitors. It’s a fun, true short track.”
On Thursday, March 12th, Enfinger is scheduled to participate in the ARCA Fan Fest autograph session from 5:00-6:00 p.m. CDT. Fan Fest will take place at USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park beginning at 4:00 p.m. CDT with show cars on display, followed by the hauler parade to MIS.
