ROSSBURG, OH – Eldora Speedway’s “off-season” is anything but that once again as the track surface is undergoing an ambitious makeover under the direction of Chad Schmitmeyer, Facilities Manager of the legendary half-mile clay oval.

Nearly 400 truckloads of clay is in the process of being hauled on to the high-banks to invigorate the surface that last year produced some of the most competitive racing seen in Eldora’s rich 61 year history.

As a non-stop parade of 45 trucks hauls in the clay, Schmitmeyer and crew continues to distribute it around the full oval, keeping a watchful eye to maintain the shaping that produced 2014’s multi-grooved racing.

While the hauling of the clay is expected to be completed within the week, the track preparation will continue right up through the April 11, 2015 Test and Tune session.

The ongoing ticket and campsite renewal process for the 2015 Dirt Late Model Dream by Ferris Mowers (June 4, 5 and 6), Kings Royal weekend (July 17 & 18), 1-800 Car Cash Mud Summer Classic for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (July 22) and World 100 (September 10, 11 & 12) continues through this Sunday, November 16 at midnight. Add and Exchange Days, exclusive to patrons who renewed their tickets or campsites for 2015, are November 19-20-21. The public sale date for the remaining tickets and campsites for these major event weekends is Saturday, December 6 at 10 a.m.

Tickets and camping for the balance of Eldora’s 2015 season will go on sale on Monday, February 9.
