Race fans might be waiting for the weekend to get back to their favorite short track, but Speed51’s Short Track America on MAVTV can get them a quick fix on Wednesdays to help them get to the weekend.
Each week, the program showcases various brands of short track racing, ranging from asphalt Super Late Models tackling high-bank half-miles to Outlaw Karts sliding on small dirt bullrings.
While the second season of Short Track America is already underway, you can still catch up on some of the action. Tonight, the program airs the Southern Super Series at Five Flags Speedway (FL) for the Blizzard Series opener, kicking off the road to the 52nd Annual Snowball Derby.
In two weeks, a run of four consecutive brand-new episodes will air on Short Track America, a four-race sequence that will have something for every short track racing fan.
Start your Fourth of July festivities early, as on Wednesday, July 3, Short Track America brings fans to Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville (TN) for the North-South Super Late Model Challenge. The tri-sanctioned event brings together the best drivers from the ARCA/CRA Super Series, CARS Super Late Model Tour and Southern Super Series at one of the most historic venues in racing.
One week later on July 10, the Super Late Models are swapped out for Dirt Modifieds, as the Dirt Cup Challenge heads to Lake View Motor Speedway (SC) for Open Wheel Madness. The race features some familiar names, including former Coca-Cola 600 winner David Reutimann and NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Justin Haley.
July 17’s episode features one of the biggest races in Outlaw Kart racing, the QRC Speed51 Open at Millbridge Speedway (NC). With a $5,000 payday and a stout field of racers from around the country, including NASCAR All-Star Race winner Kyle Larson, it’s big action on the small 1/6thmile oval in Salisbury, North Carolina.
Of course, it doesn’t get much bigger than “The Last Great Colosseum,” the site of the episode premiering on July 24. Bristol Motor Speedway (TN) hosts the 3rd Annual Short Track U.S. Nationals, featuring the Super Late Models racing around the high-banked half-mile with average speeds over 130 miles per hour.
Each episode of Short Track America airs at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. ET on Wednesdays. Check your local listings for more information.
